Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of a new sucrosomal oral form of iron in the iron deficiency anemia in IBD treatment

The article describes the significance of iron deficiency in the development of anemia in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), as well as possible approaches to its correction. The issues of insufficient effectiveness and poor tolerability of standard iron preparations are discussed, which associated with the presence of malabsorption and chronic inflammation of the intestinal wall, the possibility of using a new oral sucrosomal iron form. The purpose of the work was to determine the efficacy and safety of the new oral sucrosomal Sideral Forte form of iron in patients with anemia in IBD. The results of therapy showed a significant increase in haemoglobin and serum iron concentration within three months. Good tolerability of sucrosomal iron has been proved.
